Sustainable Development Goals

We would like to highlight that our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 9, 12 and 13 is granted.

Sustainable production technologies – investing in modern, energy-efficient machinery for can manufacturing.

Collaboration with research institutes – partnering with universities to develop lighter metal packaging.

Infrastructure upgrades – expanding solar power generation, using waste heat in factories.

Design for recyclability – packaging made of 100% recyclable metal.

Resource efficiency – reducing raw material use per unit through process optimization.

Waste minimization – reuse of packaging materials.

Energy efficiency – ISO 50001-certified management and continuous efficiency projects.

Carbon footprint measurement – annual GHG inventory for Scope 1, 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions.

Renewable energy use – onsite solar panels and purchase of renewable electricity.

0.15 mm CO₂-reduced bluemint® Steel body

Producing a 500 ml aerosol can with a tinplate body of 0.15 mm results in 202.8 g of CO₂ emissions.

+12.8%

potential CO₂ increase

Producing a similar can with a tinplate body of 0.18 mm creates 228.8 g of CO₂ (+12.8%).

+23%

potential CO₂ increase

Producing a similar can according to the US specification DOT-2Q releases 249.6 g of CO₂ (+23%)

-70%

potential CO₂ reduction

Producing an aerosol can with a CO₂-reduced bluemint® Steel body of 0.15 mm will only create 60.8 g of CO₂ (-70%).

Protact® polymer-
coated steel

In combination with Tata Steel’s Zeremis® Carbon Lite you can reduce your emissions up to 85%.

Sustainable solution

With Protact, there are significantly lower emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during coating.

Robust coating solution

The range of fill-goods compatible with Protact is wider than a lacquered version, resulting in standardised coatings which leads to inventory and complexity reduction. In addition, low porosity of the polymers significantly reduces issues with fill-goods that are prone to cause leakers in the market.

Superior polymer coating

Protact have a flexible coating that provides the benefit of superior corrosion protection over brittle lacquer-based systems. This means, no more rust rings on the bathroom sink! Due to the simple chemical structure, with no active components, Protact is food safe certified and complies to EU and US regulations. The coating does not contain any of the following starting materials: BPA, BPF, BADGE, BFDGE, NODGE, Melamine or Benzophenone.
